On Friday, 21 of August, we opened Rron Qena’s personal exhibition at the Gallery of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prishtina. After his Beograd preview, the turn came for the Prishtina audience to witness his works, which primarily deal with three cities: Prishtina, Shkodra and Berat. While moving around in these three cities, he finds his focus shifting to different phenomena which he experiences through the locations he chooses to frequent and paint.
Rron is a painter, born and raised in Prishtina. Through his expressionist paintings he has established himself as a key figure in the contemporary Kosovar art scene. His works are sold internationally and have been exhibited in various European cities. Recently, he’s been spending his days at a hostel in Shkodra, Albania, where he does murals and works on his art. “I believe in what I see and what I see I try to convey to others through color,” is what he told us when we got together to give his exhibitions a concept.
The exhibition will last until the 2nd of September, and the gallery will be open on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
